The All Blacks are currently five points clear at the top of the table and another victory will put further daylight between them and the second-placed Springboks.
The hosts have made four changes for the contest, with scrum-half Piri Weepu making his first international start since last year's World Cup.
He replaces Aaron Smith, who is dropped out of the squad altogether after breaking team rules, while lock Sam Whitelock, flanker Liam Messam and hooker Andrew Hore also come into the starting XV.
Despite the fact his team owns a perfect record so far, New Zealand captain Richie McCaw thinks the high error-count against Argentina and Australia needs to be corrected.
"What we've got to get right is being able to build pressure on the opposition rather than put it on ourselves," he said.

The average score when the All Blacks played the Springboks in the TriNations was New Zealand 28 South Africa 20.

Historically across all matches in and out of the TriNations the average score is New Zealand 19 South Africa 15 so in recent years the All Blacks have not only been getting better at beating South Africa as they win more frequently but they are doing it by bigger margins.

Throughout history New Zealand have hosted South Africa 38 times in New Zealand and won 71% of the matches with an average score of New Zealand 20 South Africa 13.

In TriNations history New Zealand have a very strong record against the Springboks at home. They have hosted South Africa 18 times and won 15 times.

That works out to New Zealand winning 83% of their matches at home against South Africa and the average score is New Zealand 29 South Africa 16 which is a 13 point margin.

Last weekend New Zealand struggled initially against Argentina who were coming off a draw against South Africa. Eventually the All Blacks wore Argentina down and won the match 21-5 outscoring the Pumas by two tries to one.

In the Rugby Championship so far South Africa have had a mixed campaign as they have won one, lost one and drawn one but their toughest assignment is this week.

The Springboks have not exactly set the world on fire yet under new coach Heyneke Meyer and they are yet to win outside of South Africa while the All Blacks are arguably playing their best rugby in some time.

The All Blacks will be without Dan Carter again this weekend and they have rotated a couple of players and dropped Aaron Smith for obedience reasons.

The Springboks have made a couple of changes in the forwards partially due to Eben Etzebeth's suspension and kept the rest of the team unchanged.

Chasing

"They kick a bit but they're pretty good at chasing it and (if) you get the ball at the right end of the field and, if you make mistakes under pressure, they've got guys who will make you pay.
"We want to improve as a team every week and perhaps we've done that in stages, but we haven't put it together yet."
South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer has made two changes for the clash, both of which come within the forwards.
Lock Flip van der Merwe comes in for the suspended Eben Etzebeth while Bath flanker Francois Louw is preferred to Marcell Coetzee in the back-row.
The Springboks could see their hopes of claiming the title this year effectively ended with a defeat.
Captain Jean de Villiers said: "We've obviously got a game plan that we believe in and we will probably stick to that," he said.
"But if it allows us to throw the ball around and we can see the space out wide we'll definitely try and take it into that space."
